Fermax is a company that specializes in video intercom and access control solutions. To expand into the Asian market, they needed a new mobile app that would allow users to remotely control video intercom devices in a simple and intuitive way.
The company lacked a solution tailored to mobile devices and the profile of Asian end users, who are more demanding in terms of visual design, responsiveness, and user experience. The app was designed to provide remote access to the intercom camera, door opening, and call management from anywhere.
The interface had to be consistent with Fermax’s product ecosystem.
In addition, the app had to be intuitive for users with varying levels of technological familiarity, reducing the complexity inherent in a product traditionally associated with hardware.
I opted for a minimalist, modern, and clean design, tailored to the visual style and expectations of users in the Asian market, while maintaining consistency with the brand’s global identity.
The work focused on transforming potentially complex processes into clear and recognizable interactions. To achieve this, we used familiar interface patterns for mobile apps, reinforced with custom visual elements that helped communicate features related to access control and remote communication.
Special attention was paid to visual consistency and reducing friction in frequently performed tasks, promoting a faster learning curve.
The project culminated in a design proposal that was approved by the client and aligned with the product’s objectives. The solution provided a coherent visual and functional foundation for the application’s development and helped transform a traditionally physical product into a more accessible digital experience.
